From one high to the next, there is no doubt 2013/14 has been a great year at RCNC. Forgive our absence here but we shall bring you up to speed with the great moments that made 2013/14 a great year at RCNC as we engaged Rotary and Changed Lives.
It all began Tuesday, 11th June 2013 at the Laico Regency where the outgoing president Irina Wandera formally handed over the mantle of leadership to the 2013/14 president Norman Kuria who has ably steered the club throughout the year to achieve what is perhaps beyond what we had dreamt of. Past District Governor, business leader, philanthropist and friend of RCNC PDG Eric Kimani gave the key note address and presided over the handing over ceremony which was well attended by Rotarians, RCNC members, Rotaractors from other clubs, sponsors and partners to the club as well as family, friends and guests. President David Hastie together with Rotarians Jessica Kazina and Faith Mamicha from our sponsor club Rotary Club of Nairobi graced the occasion.
The highlight of the evening was no doubt the hand over of the president’s chain, 2 chains in fact. Past President Raju Mangat had served the club some 2 decades back and it is amazing that he safely kept the original president’s chain and handed it over to President Norman. 2 decades ago, Rotaract Presidents were referred to us Chairman!
The first week of July gave members, friends and guests another chance to unwind in classic RCNC style. Once again, the informal handover/installation party was held in the jungle this time on the floor of the Rift Valley at Osotua Camp.
That was the beginning of what has been a great 2013/14.
