Mrs. Hellen Holi is a former student and now a long serving Biology teacher at the Kenya High School. She also serves as the Patron of both the Interact and Environment Clubs at the school.

In early 2013, Mrs. Holi was diagnosed with lung cancer and has since undergone thirteen chemotherapy sessions. Her illness has not put her down and strives to to bring out the best in her students – academically and co-curricular wise.

The whole treatment takes five years but she has already done one and a half.11426794_451626465009261_4328082055066310188_o

She requires an estimated at Kshs 5.3million to complete the remaining part of her cancer treatment. But raising funds for her chemotherapy sessions locally and long overdue medical review in India has been an uphill task. This has made and her family dispose off assets, run behind in rent and even take bank loans which now has now made her sink in more debts as she struggles to offset medical expenses.

It is in this regard that The Rotaract Club of Nairobi Central together with Interact Club of Kenya High is spearheading an online fundraising campaign that runs from 16th June to 11th July, 2015. The campaign will culminate in a Cancer Awareness Day on 11th July from 10am to 4pm.

Your small act of kindness will Keep Cancer Off our Schools and Keep Mrs. Holi in class so that more and more students can continue benefiting from her leadership, knowledge, positive influence and dedication as one of the longest serving and best Biology teachers at the Kenya High School.
