Launch of the ‘RCNC Power Talks’ | June 30th, 2015 | The Laico Regency Hotel

The night of June 30th marked another important milestone for the Rotaract Club of Nairobi Central (RCNC). It was with great pleasure that RCNC, led by Rtr. Denis Munene, launched the ‘RCNC Power Talks’.

The idea was inspired by ‘TED Talks’, which goes by the slogan “Ideas Worth Spreading” and attracts a growing and influential audience from many different disciplines. This is very similar to RCNC’s Professional Development and Service events. For many years, RCNC has adopted a strategy of dedicating most fellowships to professional development; and it is during these talks that Intellectual, Motivational and Inspirational ideas are shared. Our objective therefore will be to ensure these ideas are shared with a larger audience in our communities and the world at large.

The ‘RCNC Power Talks’ will further mature the club’s reputation, opening doors to more and greater International Service opportunities as well as membership growth. We also aim to curtail the myth and mentality that a successful Rotary / Rotaract Project must always be Community Service or International Service oriented. Together, we can build yet another Professional Development project as the next RCNC Signature Project. Beginning January 2015, RCNC has filmed every professional talk had during club fellowships; and today, we launch the first episode of ‘RCNC Power Talks’ series. Each episode will be 5-7 minutes long and will be hosted on RCNC’s Youtube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqUqBuU-VSDFTcJZwL807tQ).

It is said that ‘if you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go with others’. Thanks to President Lucy, who has been very supportive to this project, the 2014/15 Professional Development Director and Team, and all who have been keen on the success of this project. Last but not least, thank you to all members who have volunteered their time and resources to make this launch a success; Denis Munene, Martha Mutiso, Caroline Njoki and Catherine Muema. RCNC members, guests, friends, enjoy the RCNC Power Talks! We welcome any constructive comments or ideas.
