Brydges Childrens Centre is an orphanage that takes care of vulnerable children, especially orphans, homeless and impoverished.The Centre offers shelter, food and education to the children aged between 3-20 years. In total, the Centre in Kisaju, Kajiado County has 96 children- 58 Boys and 38 girls.

We begin our 37th RCNC Year by combining birthdays for both RCNC members/guests and the kids at the Centre on the 16th August 2014. The kids don’t get the chance to celebrate their individual birthdays like all of us, so lets come put a smile on their faces by way of throwing a party/fun day. We also will be de-worming them , distribution of sanitary pads to the girls as well as mentorship.

Contributions needed:
-Food stuff: Cereals- maize and beans
-Health: De-wormers, pain killers, cough syrup and vitamin supplements
-Personal effects: Combs, tooth brushes, school shoes, soap, vaseline
-Library Books: story and/or textbooks
-Birthday cake

Monetary contributions: A minimum of Ksh 400 to be sent to Treasurer Nic Odemus on 0726 710 147 or during the next RCNC meetings on 15th and 29th July and 12th August held at Laico Regency Hotel from 6pm.

Meeting point is outside Cafe Deli (behind KenCom) at 8.30am. Departure will be at 9am. For anyone who comes after 9am get a matatu to Kitengela at Railway Bus Terminus and connect from there – matatus plying Kitengela -Isinya route. Estimated bus fare to and from Brydges is Ksh 400.

RCNC Rotaract Week 2014

Is your sports gear ready? Are you ready to run, play football, tug-of-war, take part in dance and eating competition and above all have fun and build solid friendships within and other Rotaract clubs in Kenya?

Rotaract originally began as a Rotary International youth program in 1968 at Charlotte North Rotary Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, and has grown into a major Rotary-sponsored organization of over 9,539 clubs spread around the world and 219,397 members.

13th March is celebrated world over as the World Rotaract Day as on this day the first Rotaract Club, The Rotaract Club of North Charlotte, North California, USA, received its official charter with the sponsorship of Rotary Club of North Charlotte.

Rotaract Kenya joins the global Rotaract Community in celebrating the World Rotaract Week from 10th March 2014 to 16th March 2014.

Rotaract Kenya Sports and Fun Day on Saturday, 15th March 2014 at the University of Nairobi Sports Grounds

The Amazing Grace Team Challenge is a 2 month team challenge which commenced on 3rd September 2013 and members of the club and other well wishers are challenged to mobilize at least 10 friends each and support 10 girls for one year by contributing Kshs. 1,000.00 each or more. Corporate members are welcomed on board to form a staff team and contribute to a determined number of girls. The teams are required to register with a team name and the team that raises the highest amount towards the project will be awarded at the clubs alumni dinner slated for 2nd November 2013.
Join us next Tuesday as we officially launch the campaign and take you through the journeys we have had as we met these girls from different areas across the country and what kind of impact the project has had not just on the girls but on us as individuals.
